  today, april 20th, is the fourth anniversary of a very special day in my life.. the anniversary of my rebirth.. this rebirth was not a religious experience, but it was something totally pure, amazing and healing.. it had nothing at all to do with the society, or rather, of freeing myself from it.

  it was however, a giant first step in that direction.. today is the fourth anniversary of the day i got letter that changed everything.

  the words on the pages were alive, and magical: they released me from my old life and for the first time.

  Excellent post and analogy. I am happier now than I have ever been! Getting out was the best gift I have ever given myself.
  Once you get out I think the map to your life becomes clear.
  It is an adventure to put it mildly.
  Everyone, enjoy your journey. There are so many new an interesting avenues that we weren't allowed to explore before.

  Thinker and I will raise a glass to toast you together when he gets home tonight.
  I hardly know what to say. I sat here and read your thoughts with tears streaming down my face. So much of what you said sounded so much like what I went through with my first marriage.
  I always knew there was something better something really good just waiting for me around the corner. Sometimes I felt like giving up and ending it like you did.
  But I am so glad I didn't. And when Thinker and I found each other it made the wait so worthwhile.
  Now whenever I think about what we have I wish it for others. For even if they only had half of what we have they would be incredibly happy!!
  I am so happy to know that you and Justin have the whole of it!!! Congratulations!!
  I wish I could write with the beauty and depth that you do Esmeralda. It sounds as if you and Justin are each gems, which reflect and shine off of each other.

  when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her.

  body has developed in the matter of sex more than in the mind.. young folks like to be together, first in groups, later in twos.. if they have not been instructed by their parents in regard to the.

  permitted, because the female is not in physical condition to breed.. the bull seems to understand this and keeps in his own place.

  Thank you so much for reminding me. Honeycomb. It was driving me crazy. Had no idea it was written orignally by Rudyard Kipling. Do you remember who sang it? Dying to know.

  I thought I was the only one who mooed at the cows. The field service car groups always looked at me like I was demented when I did it. Oh well!

  i have read the various posts here an i have my own story to tell i amstill a witness not as active as i used to be but stillfaithful i think the main problem that jws have is that they put c.o's m.s's elders and the like on pedestals and when you do that you set yourself up for a letdown and when that person does something you dont think is right you are letdown but one should not let this block his/her relationship with jehovah.

  I have read through this thread pretty quickly. So I hope that I am not mis-speaking. IMO, it is difficult to imagine that the men in the Society are appointed by HS. I feel this way because of the many drastic mistakes with life shattering results that have been made. Many times in my years of being a JW, I have seen elders make judgments based soley on opinion and personality differences. Many times within the congregation arrangement I have noticed that the elders allow their good sense to be swayed by their wives petty jealousies and pecadillos. Personally I have a problem with this. How could HS appoint these one's and then allow such collosal mistakes to be made?
  Just a thought.

  i am a new face to this website, although i have poked around in it for some time.

  i was born and raised as a witness starting in brooklyn, new york in 1973. i was disfellowshipped on my 26th birthday, november 20th, 1999. i am not one of those that feels bitter about it.

  i know full well that the jw's have a code of morals and behavior that quite honestsly, i did not live up to.
